Welcome Message

Welcome to From the Editor’s Desk: The Official theWAHMmagazine Editor’s Blog.

Thank you for visiting us. If this is your first time here, please consider subscribing to our RSS feed or to posts by e-mail.

From the Editor’s Desk (formerly known only as theWAHMmagazine’s Editor’s Blog) is where you will find posts about issues that are relevant to being a work-at-home parent. We go beyond just offering advice and repurposing the content in theWAHMmagazine. While there will sometimes be overlapping information, the point of the blog is to generate conversation not just among subscribers to the magazine, but with anyone who choses to participate.

We look at business issues including starting, maintaining and recharging your business. We look at business strategy and how to maintain (or improve) your position as both your business and family needs evolve. We discuss the challenges of parenting while working from home throughout the stages of parenting. We look at trends in the work-at-home industry and the trends in the industries that affect us.

Of course, we’re not just about work and parenting — you know what they say about all work and no play. So we play hard too, which is necessary because as work-at-home parents, we work hard. We aim to sprinkle in some fun and games, humor and irony as well as information about maintaining mind, body and soul.

Yes, it seems like a lot, but we’re not juggling any more here than we do as work-at-home parents. And if you enjoy your time here, please consider also subscribing to the magazine for the added value and ability to participate in discussions about articles and information presented in its pages.

We’re about building communities, strengthening bonds and we’re dedicated to validating, empowering, encouraging, educating and supporting work-at-home parents.  We’re just another voice in the vast collection of powerful voices by and for work-at-home parents, so come along and join us on our journey.

And whether you’re a “lurker” or a “regular”thank you for being a part of our community!

Sincerely,

Erika-Marie S. Geiss
